The GrooveLayers are DJ Day and DJ Precise. We have a shared vision of bringing interesting, diverse, and sometimes silly music together to create something new. Our approach is to build musical layers on top of one another to make a new sound. We incorporate new and old, familiar and underground, and anything we can find to add to our mix.
Of course, as much as we love to mix and mash, we do our fair share of party rocking as well. Some nights (and sets) we just keep the crowd going and concentrate on one genre of music. We try to be diverse and just have fun.
Currently, we are experimenting with adding a 3rd element to our performance. Hopefully we'll be able to incorporate everything from drums, bass, singing, rapping, and even a 3rd set of decks.
Currently, we reside in San Francisco, CA but are available to travel for shows and bookings.
